Sometime I See the Future by Choy Ka Fai
in collaboration as Choreographer, Dancer and Motion Capture Movement Engineer
Sometime I see the Future is a lecture performance exploring the worlds of cosplay, solitude and the future of entertainment.
The project discuss the notions of telepresence in the age of extreme self, and researches into fantasy world of the cosplaying. Cosplay is used as an lens to undertake a critical inquiry into our post-human worlds and how we consume emotional realism online.
How can human become such a virtual existence in this new age of the accelerated digital culture. Maybe this social phenomenon is becoming the ultimate reflex of solitude, the reality of our digital self, in the process of becoming the extreme self, that blurs into a crescendo of emojis.
Premiere June 2024 at tanzhaus NRW, Düsseldorf
