Branched Analepsis

is a performance-project created by Yurika S. Yamamoto with a collective of dancers. It is based on a developed improvisation principle inspired by the five element theory. We’ve subdivided and defined our bodies, the horizontality and verticality in space in levels to find a common ground in communication during the research. Through this we also have the possibility to score the performed piece.

Next to this we’ve been using the senses for our dramaturgical and aesthetic inspiration. By observing several landscapes through the different senses we collected concrete situations to transpose into qualities and composition. So we’re using our principle to create dynamical body landscapes in space, with different qualities and characters.
